Breast Cancer Awareness

Education regarding prevention of breast cancer is crucial as it accounts for 30% of all new female cancers each year. The American Cancer Society estimates that in the United States this year, about 310,720 new cases will be diagnosed in women. And according to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, in 2022 approximately 2.3 million women were diagnosed worldwide.

Patients that experience better outcomes and less extensive surgery are most often a result of early detection and diagnosis.

Thus, ensuring learners have access to tools to understand, diagnose, and treat breast cancer is crucial to catching and preventing the disease.

Breast Cancer & Simulation

Ensuring learners have advanced competency and commitment to their future patients, allows us to play a part in minimizing the effects of breast cancer through prevention and early detection. Many schools include scenarios utilizing breast examination skills trainers or SPs as vital tools to teach essential skills from talking to a patient to performing exams.

Creating patient profiles in SimEMR® or MedSkills™ that educate learners about breast cancer awareness and detection is something we motivate you to include in your curriculum. When combined with MedsManager™ , stocking (SimCabRx™) or administering (SimCartRx™ Standard & SimCartRx™ Elite) common drugs used to treat breast cancer can be added to those profiles for a greater sense of realism.

With Simplicity7™, you can additionally create scenarios with task trainers or SPs to allow learners repeated practice with breast cancer screening and treatment, granting them familiarity with those procedures. There are endless possible scenario opportunities to introduce different forms of breast cancer at different levels of the disease. When including ETC™ V7™ you can observe your students every step of the way, annotating any mistakes, suggestions, or something they excelled at.
