In the ever-evolving world of simulation, we as a company know how crucial it is to continue to innovate and implement new ideas, while still sticking to some of the most important aspects of simulation spaces. Our ground breaking new cart and cabinet lines, V7 ECO, bring us back to our roots, while being the first of their kind on the market.
KbPort was founded in 2005 by CEO Chuck Miller. Chuck noticed there was a gap with the AV technology available in simulation spaces at the time, so he set out on a mission to develop his own tools to get the job done. Since then, ETC V7 has been a benchmark for recording and debriefing in simulation labs all over the United States, Canada, and various places across the globe.
We have also exponentially expanded, offering consulting and lab design services, center management solutions, and a wide range of carts and cabinets, (including but not limited to medication dispensing carts and cabinets, high capacity carts, and a telehealth cart), and more. Yet something seemed to be missing from our product list.
So we went back to the drawing board and thought of why we became a company in the first place; to create a better recording and debriefing system and to positively impact patient lives. With many medical errors occurring at the dispensing and administration phases, we saw an area for improvement in training, and created V7 ECO: medication dispensing carts and cabinets equipped with AV technology.
“The best job is when you can mix your creativity, passions, and hobbies into your daily work schedule. All day long I get to design products and solve problems that impact the lives of many.”
SimCart V7 ECO Models 20 and 30 and SimCabV7 ECO Models 100 and 200 were built to simulate real-world medication administration workflows, featuring everything simulation labs of any size could need. The workstations come equipped with SimEMR (cloud-based simulated electronic medical records), MedsManager (secure software for medication administration), ETC V7 (recording and debriefing software), SimLink (data capture system), a high-definition USB camera w/ audio capabilities, Nursing or Pharmacy Tech Lesson Plans, and an SEPhT TeachMEDS stock kit bundle.
Some benefits of adding V7 ECO to your simulation lab include:
Enhanced Engagement with Learning Materials
V7 ECO allows for easy display of various resources, such as video playback from simulations, that can help instructors to explain complex concepts and procedures. Learners process information more easily with the help of visual aids as they help to simplify complex processes and increase engagement.
Increased Patient Safety
When learners can see exactly where a mistake was made during debrief playback, they’re more likely to not make the same one again. As SimLink captures everything on the workstation screen, errors in patient history, dispensing, and more can be reviewed.
Improved Access to Information & Resources
AV systems, when used in conjunction with carts, cabinets, and simulated electronic medical records, provide easy access to evidence-based practice guidelines, medication information, and other clinical resources, enabling learners to make informed decisions and deliver quality care.
